FINTOWN RAILWAY

Take a trip along the scenic shores of Lough Finn this summer! 🚂

We are delighted to announce that Fintown Railway scenic train service will reopen for the Summer Season 2023 on Thursday, 1st June will run until mid-September 🚂

RAILWAY TIMETABLE AND BOOKING INFORMATION

Opening Times: June - September

July Schedule - open 5 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

The hours are the same as last year. The trip takes approx. 40-45min.

🚂 Train times weekdays:

10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm and 2.45pm.

🚂 Sundays and Bank Holidays:

12pm, 1pm, 2.15pm and 3.15pm.

€8 per adult / €5 per child (*children under 2 go free)

Please note that we can only accept cash. The nearest ATM is located in Glenties.

GUIDELINES FOR TRAIN USERS:

☑️ Visitors are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior train departure time.

☑️ It is really important that we depart on schedule to allow the time to sanitise the carriage after each trip.

☑️ Note that windows must remain open during the train journey to ensure proper ventilation.

The Fintown Railway is a narrow gauge railway. Set amidst spectacular highland scenery overlooking Lough Finn, the railway (3m/5km) is a restored section of the former County Donegal Railway.

There is a playground for our youngest visitors and also a few picnic benches.
