Wild Donegal Tours is a new bus tour company for Donegal. We propose to take advantage of an existing gap in the market for a company specialising in tours along the rugged and unspoilt Wild Atlantic Way. We plan to offer a choice of scenic day tours to the headlands and winding coastlines of Donegal which will include iconic Donegal sites like Fanad Lighthouse, Grianan of Aileach Fort and Doe Castle.

We will also offer evening tours of scenic and traditional pubs around Donegal The Fanad Headland Tour heads north to Rathmullan, site of the Flight of the Earls, and follows the winding Knockalla Coast Road to Portsalon and Ballymastocker Bay, once voted the second most beautiful beach in the world. Next, Fanad Lighthouse, followed by a spectacular drive around the remote Headland, a rugged stretch of coastline pounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Through Carrigart village to Downings for lunch and its stunning blue flag beach. Last stop, the15th century Doe Castle overlooking Sheephaven Bay before returning to Letterkenny.

The Inishowen Tour stops first at the ancient Grianan of Aileach fort with its panoramic views over Lough Swilly and the Inishowen Peninsula. On to the ruins of St. Mura monastery Fahan and the 5th century celtic Mura Cross. Drive along Lough Swilly, Amazing Grace Country, through Buncrana to Dunree HeadNapoleonic Fort and the chance to spot a passing whale or dolphin in the waters below. Next a drive through Mamore Gap to Urris and stop at Glenevin Waterfall. We break for lunch in Carndonagh and then on to Malin Head, where Star Wars was filmed. We drive south along Lough Foyle, past Shroove beach and its picturesque Lighthouse, to stop at the fishing village of Greencastle and the Maritime Museum. Back to drop off in Letterkenny.

The Daniel and the Donegal Shore Tour heads west through Dunlewey and Poisoned Glen to Dungloe in the Rosses on the Donegal Gaeltacht coast. We will stop here to visit the Daniel Donnell Visitor Centre, giving visitors the background to Daniel life in Donegal. Next, we take the coast road to his father home town, Burtonport and around the coast to cross the bridge to Cruit Island. Here we can see the house he built called Donegal Shore overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and view Owny Island offshore, birthplace of his mother. Drive on to Kincasslagh. We will stop at St Mary Church where he was married and his primary school. Drive past his childhood home and stop in the village of Kincasslagh. Lunch in the Viking House Hotel. Drive back to Letterkenny via the Atlantic Drive.

The Traditional Pubs of Donegal Tour is an evening visit to four of North Donegal oldest and most atmospheric pubs. First stop Conways Bar in Ramelton. A thatched roof pub, with open fires and rustic charm and traditional music sessions. The Beachcomber Bar, Rathmullan is a long-established pub located on the sea front with panoramic views over Lough Swilly towards Inch Island and the Inishowen Peninsula. From here to the An Sibin Ceoil, near Downings is a beautiful old stone building with a traditional thatched roof and a green door. On the outside it looks like a traditional Irish Cottage Inside warm open fires and friendly atmosphere. The bar showcases some of Donegal most popular traditional sessions. The last stop is The Olde Glen Bar in Glen village, reputed to be almost 400 years old with low ceilings, weathered bar counter. We return to Letterkenny around ten o`clock.
