🎪 Live in the Marquee 2025: A Weekend to Remember in Carndonagh
From 11th to 13th July, Carndonagh came alive as the Live in the Marquee festival took over the town square for a weekend of music, fun, and community spirit. Under the lights of the marquee, this much-loved summer event drew crowds from across Inishowen and beyond — and this year’s line-up delivered in every way.

🎉 Friday Highlights – Music & Magic
The festival kicked off with Kids’ Arts & Crafts and a cheerful session of Open Air Bingo, followed by a high-energy display of Irish dancing. As evening fell, the music began with The Two Bucks, before crowd favourites Gerry Guthrie and Michael English & Band took to the stage and had the marquee rocking late into the night.
🚗 Saturday Energy – Soap Boxes & Showstoppers
Saturday brought even more buzz with a Family Fun Day that filled the square with colour and laughter. The thrilling Soap Box Derby had spectators lining the streets, and the evening rolled into a powerhouse music lineup with Matthew Crampsey, Gavin Gribben & Band, and headline act Derek Ryan & Band. The night also saw hundreds gather for the ever-popular Ball Drop Fundraiser, adding excitement (and a bit of luck!) to the festivities.

🟡🟢 Sunday Spirit – Strength, Sport & Song
Sunday opened with the legendary Pub Tug of War, drawing big cheers — especially with Carndonagh’s own Conor O’Donnell lending star power and strength to the event. That was followed by a huge crowd gathering under the marquee to watch the Donegal GAA match live on the big screen, creating an electric atmosphere of county pride. The evening continued with brilliant sets from Shunie Crampsey, David James & Band, and a high-energy finale by Mike Denver & Band.
Live in the Marquee is more than just a festival — it’s a celebration of Carndonagh’s creativity, culture, and community. Huge thanks to our volunteers, sponsors, performers, and every single person who showed up to make this year unforgettable.
See you in 2026! 🎶
