A new tourism platform, sliabhliagpeninsula.ie, launches today, giving visitors a simpler and more connected way to plan and experience the Sliabh Liag Peninsula.
Designed as an all-in-one trip planning and booking tool, the website brings together accommodation, activities, food and local experiences in one place, with a strong focus on encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore more of South West Donegal. The platform launches with a growing network of local businesses across accommodation, food and activities.

At the core of the platform is an innovative Build Your Trip feature, allowing users to create personalised itineraries, save them for later and share plans with friends or groups. The site also includes curated travel packages, a map based explorer, an AI powered assistant to guide trip planning, and a growing directory of local businesses and exclusive offers.
The platform has been developed by Francis McGinley, a native of the village of Carrick in Co. Donegal, whose background in tourism related businesses has shaped the vision behind the project.
“We see so many people come to Sliabh Liag for a short visit, take in the cliffs, and leave again without realising what else is here,” said McGinley. “There is a huge range of things to do and local food to experience, but it has not always been easy for visitors to plan it all in one place. This platform is about opening that up, giving people a clear view of what is on offer, and helping them make more of their time here.”

By connecting visitors directly with local providers, the platform aims to support the wider community and ensure more tourism revenue stays within the region. The platform also gives visitors access to local knowledge, highlighting lesser known places, local favourites and spots that might otherwise be missed, all of which can be added directly into their trip plan.
Local tourism businesses across the Sliabh Liag Peninsula are invited to join the platform, with a range of partnership options designed to help them showcase what they offer and connect with more visitors.
Visitors can explore the platform at sliabhliagpeninsula.ie and follow updates on social media @sliabhliagpeninsula. Users can also sign up for news, offers and new experience launches.
