Go Visit Inishowen are delighted to announce that their new look Visitor Guide is now available. In a first for the Inishowen tourism organisation, the guide takes the form of an easy to use fold out map, as demanded by the trade, with listing of the majority tourist offer in the region. The guide was appropriately launched with Pat and Majella Doherty at Doagh Famine Village, which although recently devastated tasted by a fire, will thankfully be operational again next Wednesday 21st May.
Niall McCaughan, Manager at Go Visit Inishowen stated: “We are delighted to be able to launch this new innovative guide which is currently been distributed across Inishowen and further afield. Having listened to the local tourist trade, who highlighted the lack of a good detailed map of Inishowen, we have not only produced a new detailed map, but given new detail never seen before in this type of guide, like public Electric Vehicle charging points and the new Greenways, as well as highlighting directly our superb tourist offer across the region. This information will also be replicated on our website and for visitors to our Visitor Centre in Buncrana.

We are also delighted to launch it at one of our flagship tourist attractions featured in the guide, Doagh Famine Village, particularly in light of its reopening in the next week. It was the natural choice for us, and it’s a credit to Pat, Majella and the team who have been able to bring us this great news of its reopening. It has been challenging for them, but they have a “can-do” attitude, and with their determination and wider support that they have received, we are overjoyed that a key part of the Inishowen offer will be operational again in days.
Pat Doherty of Doagh Famine Village stated: “I am delighted to be assisting in launching the new official 2025 Inishowen Visitor Map Guide, as well as being featured in it. In spite of recent challenges, with the fantastic support of the local and wider community, we are back and look forward to the coming tourist season, as part of the great tourist offer in Inishowen.”
The new guide is available across Inishowen and further afield, as well as in the Go Visit Inishowen Visitor Centre in Buncrana.
