John Creedon in Conversation with Seán Perry at 2025 Allingham Festival
Veteran broadcaster and Irish language enthusiast John Creedon will be interviewed by fellow broadcaster and media consultant Seán Perry on Sunday 9 November at 2:30 in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon.

Author of bestsellers including An Irish Folklore Treasury and That Place We Call Home, John Creedon hosts a popular week-night show of music and stories on RTE Radio 1. His childhood memoir This Boy’s Heart was shortlisted for the 2024 An Post Awards, and the author will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts from University College Cork in November.
Interviewing John Creedon will be acclaimed sports commentator, communications consultant and public affairs practitioner Seán Perry. A sought-after event compère, Seán has interviewed leading lights from the world of GAA, Ryder Cup winning captain Paul McGinley, extreme adventurer and trans-Atlantic rower Damian Browne as well as world champion boxer Bernard Dunne and many others.

The 2025 Allingham Festival will run from 5-9 November. Festival highlights will include a keynote address by human rights activist Nelofer Pazira-Fisk, an interview with award-winning Irish novelist Donal Ryan by acclaimed writer Nuala O’Connor, a performance of Paddy - The Life and Times of Paddy Armstrong featuring Don Wycherley, and a programme of excerpts and reminiscences of the late Donegal playwright Brian Friel – plus workshops, films, music, theatre and open-mic events.
