Ardara Walking Festival 2020

Friday 13th March: Registration in the Heritage Centre from 7pm to 9pm

Fee: €25 for one day or €40 for two

Day 1

14th March 2020

Pickup for both walks 9am at the Car Park behind Nancy’s with bus to Glencolmcille.

Easy to Moderate Walk

Glen to Port. Spectacular views of cliffs, sea stacks, sea erosion etc.


Moderate to Difficult Walk

Continues on to Port Hill, Gleann Lach (Dillon Thomas, Rockwell Kent historic walk) and out by Lough Anaffrin to Straboy.


Day 2

15th March 2020

Moderate to Difficult Walk (steep ground)

Pickup for moderate to difficult walk 9am at the Car Park with bus to Maghera. Coastal walk ascending onto Sliabh Tuaidh and back to Maghera. Spectacular walk with beautiful views of Maghera, Loughros Point, Dawros, Aranmore, etc. Ground can be difficult, steep in places. Definitely for experienced walkers.


Easy to Moderate Walk

Pickup 10.15am at the Car Park. The beautiful Sheskinmore Nature Reserve Loop Walk


Meeting for all walks:

Car park, Ardara, behind Nancy’s [Map]. 8.30am, buses leaving at 9am sharp.

Registration: Friday 13th March 6pm-9pm at the Heritage Centre, Ardara.

Walks must be booked by 9pm on Friday 15th.

Gear: Good walking boots, rain gear, spare warm clothes, warm drink and food.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
