The Celtic Media Festival, the International Summit of Sound and Screen, is an annual 3-day summit that promotes the Indigenous languages and cultures of the Celtic Nations and Regions in media. It combines a major conference of seminars and master classes with presentation of coveted prizes in an international competition across all the main content genres in TV, radio, and film. As well as this, the famous CMF International Pitching Forum, which awards a £10,000 development money to the winning producer, attracts entrants from as far away as Canada and Australia.
Celtic Media Festival is peripatetic and takes place in a different Celtic location each year. In its 44-year history, the Festival has taken place in a variety of locations. The International Summit of Sound and Screen takes place in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Brittany on a regular rotation.
The Celtic Media Festival is supported by broadcast, film, cultural and economic development organisations throughout the Celtic countries.
Celtic Media Festival is attended by creatives and decision makers from film, television, and radio, as well as all broadcasters from the Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Galicia, Isle of Man, Cornwall and more increasingly, Italy, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Chinese distribution companies.
