Donegal Dragons once again welcome you all to yet another DragonBoat Regatta.
We have 12 teams and paddlers from all over the world competing, and their families and friends are visiting Donegal Town for this annual event here on our wonderful Donegal Bay.
Donegal Dragons was founded in 2015 by Deborah Bonner with a lot of help from family , friends and the community of Donegal and Donegal County Council .
This one day event grows more popular each year .
There will be 10 races and 2 finals - a breast cancer final and an Open Final . There will be races every 20 mins. Each of the 12 teams will get 3 heats. Then the 2 fastest of their heats will calculate whether or not they make the final.
Ages will range from 11 years up to there is no age limit and we are very proud to welcome competitors of their late 70's and early 80's.
It's all very exciting and very colourful to watch . Each team have their own club, their own colours and their own story.
Our paddlers will travel here from 17 counties, from the UK , Europe and Australia. This year our special guests are our paddling pals from Canada , West Island Dragons. In total there is 60 traveling with this team of Dragonboaters .
