23 May - 30 October 2019, Countywide
Welcome to the 13th season of the Donegal Garden Trail. We are delighted Brown’s Farm, a lovely spring cottage garden and well worth a visit, has re-joined the Trail after a short absence. We extend a very warm welcome to Castle Grove House Hotel which joins us both as a hospitality provider and as an interesting and historical garden to visit with specimen trees and shrubs but also a walled garden which is being brought back to full production supplying the hotel with fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables.
We thank all our valued partner Hotels and Garden Centres for their continued support. Special thanks to Harvey’s Point, Lough Eske, Donegal Town who kindly sponsored the launch of the 2019 Trail.
This year sees a compliment of 22 public and private gardens in our guide. Please note some gardens are only open for a short period of time. Some are by appointment only but don t be shy, DO phone, giving as much notice as possible.
You will find continual updates and photos of what is looking good at any particular time on our Facebook page.
More and more these days, gardening and garden visiting is recommended for the beneficial and therapeutic effects which can be gained. So we hope you enjoy the rich and varied experience of Donegal gardens.
As always, we ask that you wear sturdy footwear and take care as you walk, garden terrain may be uneven. Children are most welcome but should be carefully supervised as there may be streams, rivers and ponds. Rain gear may also come in handy!
