Brian and his wife Brenda who is our new in-house photographer
This year I’ve tried to make the most of lockdown by reconnecting with what matters most – and, for me, that’s always been my family and the food we eat.
Sitting down to eat together at our kitchen table became the focal point of each day for my wife Brenda and I and our daughters, Niamh and Aoife, and they’ve inspired me to share those skills – and recipes – so that everyone can enjoy the warmth and comfort of coming together around food.
That’s why I’ve decided to relaunch my online cookery classes to share my home kitchen directly with yours via my new website, www.chefbrianmcdermott.com.
Whether you are a beginner or an enthusiastic and confident cook this is an unique opportunity to join me from my home in Donegal.
Classes are designed as a relaxing and enjoyable experience with the option of cooking along with me through every step of the recipe – with recipes supplied in advance - or simply sitting back and watching with family.
Brian is one of Ireland’s leading celebrity chefs and is an established presence on RTÉ and BBC television and radio, and on the food festival circuit, who has now revamped his website and teaching style for the virtual world due to the impact of Covid-19.
Brian said “I never thought I would be delivering cookery classes online but I’m excited to be able to share my recipes and love of food even with the restrictions imposed by Covid-19. Connecting with family over good food kept me going over lockdown, and I’m thrilled to be able to launch a new programme of classes right up until April 2021.
“It’s never been as important to be cooking better at home as food is what fuels us all. Togetherness at the home table is back “.
