Donegal Tourism, a division of Donegal County Council, is inviting Expressions of Interest from tourism businesses based in Donegal to participate in a trade mission to Milan, Italy. This mission will be conducted in partnership with Ireland West Airport Knock, Tourism Ireland, and six other local authorities along the western seaboard. The primary purpose of this initiative is to showcase the convenient access from Milan to the West of Ireland via the Ireland West-Milan Bergamo air route, which operates three flights weekly. On Wednesday, 6th May 2026, an evening event will take place, allowing participating businesses to present their offering and engage with tour operators and media representatives from the Milan area. Three businesses from Donegal (one rep per business) will be chosen once all expressions of interest have been received. A spread of representation from accommodation providers to activities to attractions will be considered. Businesses selected will be at the discretion of Donegal County Council and Tourism Ireland to ensure equal spread of geographical location and business type. Businesses expressing interest should:
Donegal County Council will subsidise the cost of hotel accommodation for one to two nights in Milan only. The cost of flights and other incidentals must be borne by the business. (Flights are currently working out at around €37.00 from Ireland West (dep 05th May ret 07th May) Event Format: • Networking: Each Trade partner gets a print out with each Industry partner name and a company description and 2-3 hours of networking with entertainment and food This offers your business a unique opportunity to directly engage with invited tour operators.
