The four star self-catering dormer bungalow Seafield overlooks Lough Swilly, just outside Ramelton in County Donegal. The house is just a five minute stroll away from the Heritage Town of Ramelton.
Seafield features four spacious bedrooms. There are two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom with an ensuite shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs there is one bedroom with both a single bed and a double bed. This bedroom also has a wash hand basin and the main bathroom has an electric showers. The house has been furnished to the very highest standard and electric blankets, bed linen, towels and hairdryers are supplied.
There is a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, a utility room and a spacious well equipped lounge/playroom. The play room is equipped with TV, various games and toys, lots of children’s books and a variety of Lego pieces to suit all ages. The house is situated on over half an acre of ground, laid out mostly in lawn, ideal for a game of football or cricket. There are two public tennis courts located very near to the house. Ramelton is a scenic village set along the banks of the river Lennon. Most of the building’s date back to the early 17th Century and the river on which it lies was once navigable by ocean going vessels, sailing as far away as Jamaica. Steeped in history Ramelton was nominated as one of Ireland’s Heritage Towns. The Old Meeting House where the County Genealogical Centre is located is one of the oldest Presbyterian Churches in Ireland. With over 4 million people owing their ancestry to Donegal, the Genealogical Centre is a must for those trying to trace their elusive ancestor. Killydonnell Abbey, founded by the O’Donnell’s in the 16th Century, is a few miles from the village. The town itself boasts seven pubs just a stroll from the house. Apart from the traditional style pubs and restaurants scattered around the town, Ramelton also has several shops and other businesses, in particular the ‘Mc Daids’ family bottling store which produces its own range of soft drinks, both in conventional flavours and the unusual ‘Football Special’ drink.
Ramelton has a very central location for touring all parts of Donegal, which goes unchallenged as one of the most beautiful of the counties of Ireland. You will readily appreciate why, when you experience the abundance of beautiful beaches, golf courses, scenic drives, museums, angling areas, fantastic national parks and visitor attractions and above all the warm, friendly and welcoming people.
