Celebrating the life, work, and legacy of Patrick MacGill, Ireland's most compelling voice of migration, memory and working-class life.

Full Event Description

The Patrick MacGill Festival is a three-day cultural initiative dedicated to celebrating and revitalising the literary and social legacy of Patrick MacGill.

By weaving historical storytelling with contemporary workshops, the festival serves as a bridge between the rugged heritage of West Donegal and the modern Irish experience.

The Festival seeks to honour MacGill's life as a writer of rural life in Donegal, an exile, a worker at the margins of 20th-century society and a solder in the trenches of the First World War and to ensure his work remains accessible to new generations.

The Festival aims to foster and develop intergenerational links through shared storytelling and collaborative arts.
