This section of the Burtonport Railway Walk is a 6 km route through spectacularly remote areas of County Donegal with magnificent views as it follows the route of the railway line to Burtonport. This section runs along Muckish Mountain from Creeslough to Falcarragh. Along the way the trail passes by lough Agher, cuts through rocky outcrops showing some of the engineering fetes involved in the construction of the original railway line. From cuttings to embankments and bridges to lakes the route displays beautiful views of the locality and imprints memories of the journey many took on a daily basis as they travelled about their business.
The terrain of the route consists generally of the old railway track apart from divergences onto laneway where again the base is solid and good footing.
The route has a gradual elevation and is mostly level with the down- hill trend heading in the Falcarragh direction.
Tá an chuid seo de Shiúlóid Iarnróid Ailt an Chorráin 6km ar a fhad ag dul fríd cheantair iargúlta áille Chontae Dhún na nGall agus ag leanúint bealach an iarnróid go hAilt an Chorráin. Téann an chuid seo taobh leis an Mhucais ón Chraoslach go dtí An Fál Carrach. Téann an bealach thar Loch Achair, gearrann sé fríd lomáin chreagacha a thaispeánann cuid de shaoithiúlacht innealtóireachta i dtógáil na hiarnróidé ón tosach. Ó ghearrthacha go claífoirt agus droichid go lochanna, tá radharcanna áitiúlá áille le feiceáil agus fágann siad cuimhní faoi na turais éagsúla a bhí á ndéanamh ag na daoine a chuaigh romhainn.
Tá tír-raon an bhealaigh déanta a bheag nó a mhór as rian an tsean- iarnróid taobh amuigh de eisréimneachtaí ar lánaí ina bhfuil an bonn agus an bonnra láidir agus maith.
Tá ardú deas réidh ar an bhealach, tá an chuid is mó de cothrom, agus tá claonadh fánach i dtreo an Fhál Charraigh.
