Donegal Garden Trail promotes garden visiting as a collective effort in County Donegal, encouraging garden visiting as an educational and leisure activity.

Oakfield Park is a 100 acre garden, consisting of award winning walled gardens to ponds, lakes, a lakeside Nymphaeum, a hedge maze, heritage trees and sculptures. Our crowning glory is a 4.5km narrow gauge railway with a diesel and steam train operating passenger trips daily. This is a magical way to explore the park s gardens as the train passes through flower meadows, beautiful woodlands, willow tunnels, boardwalks, heritage trees and sparkling streams and lakes. After a day rambling around the parklands, you can refuel in Buffers Garden Restaurant, which is open daily and serves a delicious selection of home baked goodies, light bites and meals - all created with produce from the park and gardens.

Admission: Adults Euro 9. Children Euro 6. Family passes available

Directions: Search for Oakfield Park on your sat nav or enter the Eircode F93 XY1R. Take N14 Lifford - Letterkenny Road. Take left turn at Drumbeg (L2374) signposted for Oakfield Park. Proceed for approx. 1.7 km. Carpark on the Left.

Opening Hours

OAKFIELD PARK IS REOPENING ON WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE 2020

We are delighted to announce that Oakfield Park will re-open to the public on Wednesday 10th June at 11am, to coincide with Phase 2 of the lifting of public health restrictions and the associated geographical and distancing guidelines.

There is no need to book. The train runs every day the park is open.

We are open from 11am to 6pm, Wednesday to Sunday from June 10th.

We are open 7 days per week through July and August from 11am to 6pm each day.

Buffers garden tea rooms is open every day that the park is open plus for select evening events.

Last admittance and last orders in Buffers strictly at 5.30pm.
