Ghost Ship Sea Kayak Tour

Kayaking out along Ballymastocker Bay, spotting for Wild Bird Colonies, Seals and possibly Dolphins, while taking in the Sea Cliffs and Caves towards Knockalla Fort, a large defendable fort built during World War 1.

But more astonishing than the Giant Sea Cliff, hidden in plain sight from all but the sea, a full-size Ghost Ship in a Cave.

The 15 Meter Horizon Fishing Vessel ran aground at 3:30am on March 5 2008 near Saldana Point, the sea conditions and the Giant Cliffs made it almost impossible to rescue the crew from the stricken craft by life boat. Though with the work of the Sligo based Irish Coast Guard Helicopter, all 7 crew were winched to the safety of the helicopter in darkness of night, while hovering close to the 60 feet high cliffs for 50 mins.

This Kayaking Tour gives a very unique view of Lough Swilly and the many mirror like image caves and inlets. Returning to the 2nd Most Beautiful Beach in the World, YES!! Knockalla Beach, stretching almost 5km to Portsalon Pier.
