Bioluminescent Night Kayak Tour
You’ll find many marvels along the Wild Atlantic Way Donegal, from the Knockalla Ghost Ship, the Magnificent 7 Arches, Fanad Light House, the Pollad Great Arch, spectacular sea cliffs and Knockalla's golden beaches.
But the most mysterious of all, are the glowing waters to be found on summer nights along the Donegal Coast.
Bioluminescent plankton shine under the Darkness of Night, along Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way, turning the plankton a ghostly blue as the sea is disturbed with every passing paddle stroke.
Eco Atlantic Adventures can take you on a night-time kayak on Lough Swilly or Sheephave Bay and witness this phenomenon glittering beneath the still waters.
Kayaking out in the evening as your eyes get accustomed to the lowering level of the sun. Gazing at the ever-growing sea of stars above, in the hope to catch a shooting star or to see the glow of a shoal of phosphorescence plankton.
Returning after dark following the distant light along the beach, with the light of the fire to guide the way home. Finish of the Evening with a hot drink around the fire.
