First image for Wild Atlantic Salmon Tours
Our guided Wild Atlantic Salmon Tours are a kayaking experience in 2 particularly interesting locations in Co. Donegal linked to the mythology of the Irish Salmon. Each tour traces the route of the migratory salmon and relates it to the landscape and surrounds. Our first route at the source of the Derg and Foyle system is near Lough Derg in South West Donegal, a boundary area between north and south, east and west, which has attracted pilgrims and settlers from the neolithic period. The second tour explores Irelands northernmost point, Malin Head where the north Atlantic and Foyle estuary meet. A signature point on the Wild Atlantic Way, Malin Head has a distinctive marine culture, a popular viewing place for marine mammals in summer and a launching point for a list to Inishtrahull Island, 6 miles off the coast. Our tour rounds the Head itself and looks at the legends and ecology of this unique place. Both tours runs in association with local community centres where you can get a beverage and orientation before of after your trip. Tours can be booked from March to October
