Map of the Course
Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club (G.C.) is situated approximately halfway between Co. Sligo Golf Club at Rosses Point and the 2019 British Open Venue, Royal Portrush Golf Club, or the 2018 Irish Open Venue, Ballyliffin Golf Club. It has become one of the most admired courses in this part of the country in recent years.
Ballybofey and Stranorlar G.C. is set on lush mature parkland, with tree-lined fairways and picturesque views of the Donegal Mountains and the Valley of the Finn River. The dramatic par-5 7th is the signature hole, played around Lough Allan and one to tell your friends about! The clubhouse towering in the background creates a magnificent setting in which to enjoy your golf and is complemented by the stunning views.
The course was designed by architect P.C. Carr, requiring every club in the bag. Extensive drainage and improvement works have left the course playable almost all year round, with all the greens conforming to USGA specifications. They have been noted as among the best greens in the North and West of Ireland.
