This is Donegal’s tropical garden, inspirational and boldly experimental! This garden also specialises in plants tolerant of seaside conditions. ‘Cluain na dTor’ meaning “meadow of the shrubs” - an apt place-name - shrubs as shelter and as ornamentals populate this garden with surrounding natural wildflower meadows. Twenty years in the making, a wonderfully eclectic mix of individual specimens are happily assembled to exhibit their beautiful forms, textures and bold colours. This is a garden packed with unusual and very precious plants proving that a much greater range of plants can be grown in north-westerly gardens. Contemporary sculptures and an Art Studio featuring work by local artists can also be enjoyed. New wet meadow garden being developed including suitable ornamental plantings, pond and native wild meadow. Vegetable garden on view.
