Our walk begins at the Celtic Cross, Cathedral Square, near the oldest building in town - Conwal Parish Church. You'll hear about some of the people who helped to make Letterkenny the thriving town it is today, and visit some of its iconic landmarks. From there we'll visit the Market Square, the Hiring Fair Statue, and then on to the Main Street, where we'll see a shop built in 1880, still functioning in almost it's original state. From there we'll proceed towards the Head of the Town , where the Main Street meets the Ramelton Road and the High Road; we might even have some sweet treats along the way! Next stop is the Donegal County Museum, formerly Letterkenny Workhouse, which is free to visit. We will then make our way back towards the Cathedral, via the peaceful memorial garden, passing the castle-like St Eunan's College and Sentry Hill. There'll be stories and anecdotes along the way, with plenty of recommendations for lots more to see and do in Letterkenny and beyond.
