Bought and lovingly restored by My Donegal Escape in 2012, the almost 100 year old Drumbarron Cottage is full of country charm and was the first of our self-catering properties to welcome guests to Donegal. With its cream sash windows, beamed ceilings and touches of Laura Ashley, the cottage has a very inviting, cosy and relaxed feel throughout. The three individually designed bedrooms comfortably sleep up to 6 guests. Each room has an original feature fireplace, these were discovered during the extensive renovations. With a little love and care they have been restored back to their former glory.

The kitchen in Drumbarron Cottage oozes country charm. With its beamed ceiling, hand painted furniture, wood burning stove and even a rocking chair, this is a room you won’t want to leave in a hurry. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cozy night in. You will also find a Sitting Room with an open fire, Shower Room and Utility on the ground floor. The 3 bedrooms in the cottage are located on the first floor. The deep windows sills in each room allow you to sit and enjoy the mountain views. The master room has a king size bed and a en suite shower room. The twin and double bedrooms share a beautifully decorated bathroom with a luxurious free standing bath.

Drumbarron cottage sits in a small cul-de-sac of houses which enjoy views over the heritage town of Ardara, which is a short 5-minute walk away, and the mountains that surround it. The outside space at the cottage is private and enclosed. It has a concrete area to the rear which is perfect for kids to play and a stoned street to the front which can park up to 3 cars. A picnic bench and outdoor seating area offers the perfect spot to dine alfresco. There is also a communal grass area directly in front of the house.
