Donegal Historical Society

Cumann Staire agus Seanchais Dhún na nGall

The County Donegal Historical Society was founded by the late J.C.T. MacDonagh on the 20th December 1946. The objective of the Society is to preserve and record the history of the county. Since 1946 it has awakened a new interest in Donegal studies and has brought together people of different traditions and backgrounds.

Heritage Week 2020 in Co. Donegal

15th - 23rd August 2020

National Heritage Week is coordinated by The Heritage Council & Local Authority Heritage Officers with support from Fáilte Ireland. County Donegal has become one of the places to be during ‘Heritage Week’.Over 120 events are taking place for National Heritage Week in County Donegal from Saturday, August 15 to Sunday, August 23, 2020 and most of them are free.
