Author interviews and Creative Writing Workshop for Allingham Festival

Irish author Donal Ryan, winner of the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, will share his observations on contemporary society and the writing life in an interview at the 2025 Allingham Festival. His novel Heart, Be at Peace revisits the characters of The Spinning Heart as a small Irish community faces the contemporary challenges of social media, drugs, and illegal industries.


When your dog visits Donegal

Dogs are another member of the family and when you’re taking a short break you may want to bring them with you. There’s plenty of places to walk and feed them and we’ve put a few our favourites below. Please keep in mind that respecting other walkers is essential so dogs should be on a leash and kept under effective control. If you do let your dog off its leash, be sure to do so in a designated area.


Dermot in Donegal for new TV Show

Following a hugely successful first series, which has reached over 3.3 million viewers in Britain, TV and radio presenter Dermot O’Leary is back on the island of Ireland this week filming for a second series of Dermot’s Taste of Ireland.
